- I am a teacher and have been in the field of education for a long time. I have worked in schools, colleges and higher institutions of education. I have also worked with development organisations including international NGOs. I like to know more about what happens in the calssrooms in different contexts, and teacher education and development in a global context.

I have been to China, Australia, Jordan, Siberia and England. In Novosibirsk, Siberia, which is the capitol of Siberia, there are two schools that are supposed to be THE schools to attend in Russia to become a teacher or administrator. The name of these schools are Novosibirsk Pedagogical University ( for teacher training ) and the Siberian Academy for Public Administration ( obviously to train administrators ). I have visited both. I gave a speech at SAPA in 2006 encompassing the use of compassion in service learning. One of the leaders of this conference was Dr. Adel Safty. Dr. Safty is the Leadership Chair of UNESCO, which stands for the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization. When I finished my speech, not only did he say that he understood compassion better but he invited me to return to participate in a conference devoted to improving the training of public administrators in Russia.
